چکیده

Soil acidification in the subtropical region reduces soil productivity and increases bioavailability of heavy metal(loid)s soil. Here 800 °C-calcined oyster shell leonardite-derived humic substance were combined to form a Ca-humic complex remediate an acidic contaminated by cadmium (Cd) arsenic (As) for safe vegetable production. In pot experiment, was added as amendment at 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 2.0%, 5.0%. A 2.0% dose reduced Cd As contents bok choy 98% 71%, respectively, alleviating human health risk from food chain. The unified bio-accessibility method (UBM) followed estimate As. lowered simulated gastric (BioG) intestine (BioGI) compartments 15.5% BioG-Cd, 39.2% BioGI-Cd, 28.8% BioG-As, 45.0% BioGI-As, thus reducing ingestion. use waste produce is practical means achieving dual agronomic environmental benefits, remediation contamination disposal waste.

Using poly-glutamic acid as soil-washing agent to remediate heavy metal-contaminated soils.

The extraction efficiency of heavy metals from soils using three forms of gamma poly-glutamic acid (γ-PGA) as the washing agents was investigated. Controlling factors including agent concentrations, extraction time, pH, and liquid to soil ratio were evaluated to determine the optimum operational conditions. The distribution of heavy metal species in soils before and after extraction processes w...

Modelling complex soil properties as contaminated regionalized variables

Robust estimators of the variogram can be used to identify a random function that describes the background variation of a soil property with the minimum influence of contaminants from a quasi point process. A method is proposed to exploit this to identify data which are best treated as a realization of a quasi point process rather than of a continuous random function for purposes of spatial ana...

Arsenic uptake by lettuce from As-contaminated soil remediated with Pteris vittata and organic amendment.

Leaching of inorganic arsenic (As) from chromated copper arsenate (CCA)-treated wood may elevate soil As levels. Thus, an environmental concern arises regarding As accumulation in vegetables grown in these soils. In this study, a greenhouse experiment was conducted to investigate the ability of As-hyperaccumulator P. vittata and organic amendments in reducing As uptake by lettuce (Lactuca sativ...

Green waste compost as an amendment during induced phytoextraction of mercury-contaminated soil

Phytoextraction of mercury-contaminated soils is a new strategy that consists of using the higher plants to make the soil contaminant nontoxic. The main problem that occurs during the process is the low solubility and bioavailability of mercury in soil. Therefore, some soil amendments can be used to increase the efficiency of the Hg phytoextraction process. The aim of the investigation was to u...
